I am feeling really upset right now. I was sitting with my dog Tyson on the couch, he always likes to cuddle up to me and he yawned and I noticed the back of his tongue was kind of white and I know he has been having issues like something was bothering him so I looked in his mouth on the side where his tumor is and I could see it coming down into his gums. It looks like a bubble there and I just broke down. The thought of this tumor taking over his mouth as well is just to much for me. How does anyone deal with a pet with cancer? I can not even imagine if I had to deal with a person with cancer because this is just way to much. I am so heartbroken. I knew in time this might happen but I wish it wasn't happening. I just wish this thing wasn't growing into his mouth. I know sooner or later I will have to decide to put him to sleep and I just do not want to do that. I don't want to have to put him through pain though either so I know I will have to.
Wow, I am so unbelievably tired! I had to babysit early today. At 8am. I haven't had to do that for a couple weeks so I got used to sleep till about 9 but today I had to get up at 7:10. Last night I had a hard time sleeping and this getting up to pee 4 times a night is killing me. The baby I watch is sleeping so I should probably nap too but I don't feel like it.
This week is going to be pretty busy. Today I babysit till 5:30pm. Tomorrow I have a doctor apt. at 2pm then babysit at 7:30pm till about 10:30pm. I am hoping in between my apt. and babysitting my Mom, sister and I can get our nails done. We wanted to take our Mom to get them done for Mother's day and I want mine done for the shower. Then Thursday I have to babysit at 3pm till 5:30 then possibly at 7:30 to 10:30. Then Friday we are getting ready for the shower! I have a friend stopping by since she can't make the shower and I will see her boys, who I haven't seen in years. I used to babysit them. Then my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and niece are all coming into town!! I can not wait to see them. Especially our niece Bella. She is so cute. Then at 7:30pm we have our 3D ultrasound!!!! I can not wait for that. I want to see Adonis' precious little face and see if he really does have his Daddy's lips. Last ultrasound it looked like he had big lips. That is the main thing I want my kids to have lol. I always wanted bigger lips and my husband has almost like Angelina Jolie lips, I swear! He is so handsome.
Then of course my SHOWER is Saturday!!! I am so excited for that, not just because we get baby items but because my best girlfriends will be in town. I just love my girls. I also get to see their kids who I am very close with. My one friend Katie, has an 11 year old son. When he was a baby I would go over to her house literally everyday after school and spend the day with her then when I was out of school I worked till noon and would go over there and spend all day with her and him. We were inseperable and for the longest time he thought I was his other Mom lol. His Mom actually is a lesbian so she is married to a woman, Tracy, who is his other Mom (they got together when he was about 3) and sometimes he tells people his Aunt Brenna who is also his 3rd Mom is having a baby lol. He also loves Branden, which I love, because Sydney is so special to me. I mean I really was a huge part of his life and we just have always had a special bond.
I also can not wait to see my friend Kat, who has two daughters. I mentioned them here before, Ashleen and Brielle. They are the most precious things ever. I was there when Ashleen was born and it was incredible.
So busy and yet it doesn't feel like it's coming up to fast or to slow, which is good I guess. I also need to get my hair done because I have grey roots! Yikes! I haven't wanted to dye my hair like I normally would so I was holding out as long as possible and my Mom is a hair dresser so she does it and we can sit where there is a lot of circulation instead of a salon with a bunch of other chemicals.
I am sure I will be updating more throughout the week!

Yesterday I woke up and my stomach looked smaller. It was so weird. After I ate it looked bigger but I was hoping Mr. Adonis had flipped head down instead of still being transverse but I think I still feel his head on my right side and his butt/feet on my left. Little stinker.
I also called to make a prenatal pediatric appointment! I am excited about this. I got two recommendations to a Pediatric Associates near us from two of the ladies I babysit for and I am looking forward to meeting the doctors and getting a tour. I need to write down a bunch of questions to ask and get everything worked out before we go in. We don't go in till June 25th. I need to make sure I tell Bran to take off.
It's crazy all these things you need to do before the baby gets here and it just makes it all seem so real. I just can not wait to meet my baby. I keep wondering what he will look like. I hate to say this but I wanted if he will be cute lol. I mean both Bran and I were cute babies so I am sure he will be cute but sometimes some babies look seriously rough after coming into the world. Obviously as a parent you could really care less but it's funny to think about. Like if he does look a little rough will I notice and if I do will I think it's funny for people to tell me he is cute?
Not to much else has been going on. I have a doctor apt. Wednesday and then Friday is our 3D ultrasound then Saturday is my babyshower! I can not wait. I can't wait to see my Mother--in-law and Sister-in-law and niece Bella. Bella, is probably one of the funniest little girls. She has so much energy and she is very silly. I just love her to death.
I am also hoping one of my BF's Kat, brings her two daughters to the shower. I just love them so much. I call them my girls. Her oldest Ashleen is one of the most beautiful, sweetest, smartest girls you will ever meet. I mean she is stunning. I was there when she was born and I seriously looked at her and was like that baby isn't cute, she is beautiful. I mean there was no words. She came out looking like she had lipstick on, eye liner and mascara, her features are just insane. Her younger sister Brielle is the toddler ever. She walks around with this happy go lucky personality and she is just very funny and sweet. I love holding her. I hate that they live almost 4 hours away. Her husband Jaime is also amazing and Bran and him get a long great so its nice having them in our lives. I really want to move closer to them and we are hoping to move that way next year.
The 28th can not come soon enough!

Has anyone been to those frozen yogurt places where you put on your toppings and then they weigh it? Today I went to a new one with the girls I watch since the older one turned 14 today! I have been watching them since she was about 7 or 8 and I can't believe she is getting so old. She is an awesome girl and I just love watching her grow into an amazing person. I wish I was as confident as her at 14. Anyway we went and I usually get the cookies and cream flavor but tried the pink lemonade sorbet and it was so good! I am seriously in love! It's perfect for summer.
I also got my baby shower dress!!! I love it. I wasn't thinking I was going to get this kind of dress but my friend had a pic on facebook of herself up and it was a long maxi dress. I asked her where she got it and she said Dillards. She said they had a ton of them so I figured why not try and see if I could find one. I am so happy I went and got it. I love, love, love it. Here is a picture, please ignore my eyes, I look cross eyed but I was trying to make sure I got the dress on my camera lol.

Today has been a great day. I went to the beach this morning with Bran and we were there for about 2 hours. We went in the water and it was so fun jumping the waves. I used to love doing that when I was a kid and it's more fun now for some reason.
Then later I went to see Something Borrowed with my friend Maggie. It was really good. They kept it pretty close to the book with some changes that made sense for a movie. I am really hoping they make Something Blue. I loved that book more so hopefully they will do it. I love all of Emily Giffin's books so if anymore get made into movies I will be stoked.
Not much else is going on. I did get home and Tyson was having some issues with sniffling and his nose. I hate that he has this tumor that is making it uncomfortable for him. He doesn't act like he is in pain or suffering but at times like tonight, he does seem uncomfortable, like he has horrible allergies. I gave him a little baby benadryl and it helped so that is good. I just want my little guy to be healthy and not have cancer but this is the way it is and I have to just deal with it.

Last year Branden and I discovered Dave Ramsey and his 7 Baby Steps to Getting Debt Free. I fell in love with him and his amazing way of living life. He lives well within his means and his motto is "Live like no one else now so you can live like no one else later." Meaning if you can sacrifice the expensive, over priced things now, later in life you will be able to live a debt free, stress free life with amazing things such as a nice home, a nice car, savings you can eventually live off of and things like that. He talks about paying cash and paying off debt. Taking responsibility for that debt and moving on from it. He has been there, done that and is an inspiration.
My husband and I knew we wanted to be debt free when we had a baby. We didn't want to have to worry so much about every little bill we had. We do not follow his steps 100% but we do try to use them as guidelines on the big things. The first step is simple, start a savings account with $1,000 of Emergency Funds. This was pretty easy for us to do right away and we moved on to step 2. Pay off Debt! This was takes time. He gives great tips on how to make this happen and we were able to pay off pretty much all our debt except my leased car and my husbands student loan. We haven't started on that one only because he has it down to half of what he owed and its not gaining interest and he doesn't have to pay it while he is in school, so we decided to hold off on that. We definitely sacrificed in a way to get our debt paid off. My parents, who are incredibly generous gave us money towards a honeymoon that we put towards our Emergency Savings and paying off some debt. We still had much more to pay off and only had about $1,500 by this Christmas that needed to be paid off. I was already pregnant so we were set on getting this taken care of. My parents, not knowing we were doing this, had given us all a present for Christmas and they always make things equal so since my sister got an amazing lap top they gave us a check as well to even things out. I was in shock. I was not expecting this at all. I as almost in tears because it was just under what we needed to pay off our last remaining debt. We took my next paycheck and paid the last of it off and were credit card debt free and my husbands car was also paid off at this point. After this we decided to start saving part of my paychecks to help for when baby comes. It has been a bit of a sacrifice as we used to love to go on little trips throughout the year and once I got pregnant we decided to not do that until we felt comfortable with our savings but it has been worth it. I feel like the best advice anyone can ever give another person, especially their child is to live this way. Do not open a credit card to "build credit". Dave explains how this is not necessary. Its amazing how one book can really open up your eyes to a whole new way of living.
Our next big step will be buying a car with cash and trying not to finance any of it. If need be we will but we now know how to go in there and get the price we want.
I highly suggest anyone out there who feels horrible about their financial state to look into his books. He is so inspiring, encouraging and smart about money that it makes you feel like you can really become a millionaire one day. The book we bought was called The Total Money Makeover, try to buy it used to save some money ;-) His site has a lot of information so you may not even need the book. Check it out!

Today I had a doctor appointment and the baby is already measuring 2.5 weeks ahead! I have a feeling he will be a big boy like his Daddy. I also got some pamphlets on hospital classes and yoga. I need to definitely look into those. I asked the doctor who I saw about induction since that has been my main concern and her answer was perfect. We try to avoid induction at all costs! I love it. She likes to do things as natural as possible but thinks epidurals are fine, I told her I was a wimp so I probably will get one but I love that she is more into the natural things.
After that I went to lunch with my Mom, my friend Maggie and her Mom, Susan, who was in town from California. It was great seeing them and having lunch. I basically lived at Maggie's when I was in highschool and have always been close to her Mom. I really wish she still lived here.
On another fun note, I am trying to plan a Baby Moon for me and Bran. I hope I can pull it off as a surprise for Branden. He always plans the surprises for us and since his birthday, our anniversary and Father's Day are all coming up I thought it would be nice. He got me a great Mother's Day gift to a spa and I just feel so lucky and want to show how much I appreciate all he does. Last year for our anniversary he surprised me with a mini trip to Naples and it was so sweet and relaxing. Since the baby is basically due on our anniversary I want to do something now before I get to uncomfortable. I will keep you posted!

26 weeks |
Branden's cousin Sarah and her husband Todd came and stayed with us from Tuesday to this Sunday. It was great seeing them. Sarah is Branden's closest in age cousin and we all just get a long really well. They got here Tuesday so we went to lunch at Le Tub's which is a cute little restaurant on the intercoastal. Then we stopped by the beach and stuck our feet in the water. Then we headed home and they napped and we went to Kmart and got a cheap little dresser for Adonis' room. We actually saw a guy who worked there named Adonis! I was so excited!
27 weeks at the beach! |
Friday, after I had to take a make up exam, we went to Nami's for dinner and then to Hard Rock. So fun! I miss having fun nights out.
27 weeks at Hard Rock |
I have to take my glucose test soon! I was going to go today but ended up running errands with Branden and then we started working on the baby's room! I will post pics soon, we still need to paint and get curtains.
I think I will go Friday to take it. Its so annoying because I have to do a walk in to the lab place because they never have openings and you can just walk in. I hope it doesn't suck to much.
