Perfectly Imperfect Mom

First I want to thank  Gerber Good Start Soothe Infant Formula and Gerber Soothe probiotic Colic Drops, for sponsoring this post! I had two babies who suffered from colic and it was very difficult. It made me feel like a failure as a mother because I couldn't sooth my baby. Looking back I know there were certain pieces of advice I wish I could give myself to help me through that time.
1. Don't be afraid to ask for help. This is key. When your baby is constantly crying it can really wear on you. It's ok to ask for someone to come and help you with the baby. People love holding babies so ask a friend or family member to come by and get a little break, even if it's just a well needed nap.
Everly being worn in the K'tan
2. Wear your baby. Wearing my colicky babies was a life saver. They needed to be held constantly which meant I always had my hands full. Once I started using my wrap it made my life so much easier.
3. Feedings can be tough. With Ace and Everly feedings were so tough with them. Everly would scream through bottles. She just was so uncomfortable all the time. With Ace his colic didn't last as long so I was still nursing him. With him he found comfort with nursing so he was on me all the time. It was night and day with those two. I wish I had known about Gerber Sooth products. They have Gerber® Soothe Colic Drops for breastfed babies and Gerber® Good Start® Soothe Infant Formula for formula fed babies. Something I could have used for each of my kids.

4. Get expert advice. Whether you feel that is your doctor, mother, or best friend, don't be afraid to ask them for suggestions. I know it helped me by asking my seasoned Mom friends on what I could do to help my little ones through this colic phase. The best advice I remember getting was wear them and vacuum. The sound and movement helped sooth them. Such good advice!

5. Get out of the house! Just going for a walk and getting fresh air can do wonders for your and your baby. The motion of the stroller (or if you wear your baby, the motion of you walking) will hopefully help your little one stay calm so you can get a good walk in.

Did you have a baby with colic? What advice would you give a new Mom dealing with a fussy, colicky baby?

Happy Friday! Who is ready for the weekend? I know I am. It was a super busy week for me. Who is a fan of Batman and Superman?
I grew up on the hunks so I am super excited for the new Batman Vs. Superman movie. I was actually really surprised by it and wondered how they would make it work. Then I saw the trailer and got really excited. To make it even more amazing is getting to try the new Superman™ Caramel Crunch and Batman™ Chocolate Strawberry cereals!

Our house, though, is a house divided. We have the Superman fans and the Batman fans. Ace and Branden are definitely the Batman fans while Ashlyn and I are the Superman fans. Everly is our little tie breaker. She is still leaving us hanging on who she prefers.

These delicious cereals make mornings much more fun for our little kiddos. Ace loves wearing his cape and eating his batman cereal. Ashlyn and Everly are also huge cereal fans now and these were a big hit.

Maybe your kids are more of a Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix or Lucky Charms fan?  Don't worry there is something in store for them too. Inside specially marked General Mills cereal boxes are comic books! You can not go wrong with any of these choices.

Happy Mondays! So now that we have beat the Mondays it is time to go after this week and rock it. I have been in a bit of a slump when it comes to my mornings. I have been rushing out of the house and not spending any time for myself. I used to wake up at 5:45 am and have time to really just be by myself and savor the quiet.
I knew I had to do something to get past this slump and get back my mornings. Here is the perfect morning rituals for any Mommy who wants a little Me time.
1. Wake up before everyone else. I know, I know. You are probably groaning at the thought of getting up earlier than you need to but trust me, it is a life saver.
2. Get ready for the day. When I get up early and don't have my kids pulling at my legs I have time to actually put on my make up and do my hair. I feel way better about myself  and put together.

3. Have a delicious and healthy breakfast. I find it hard to find cereals that are not only good tasting but healthy. I just started eating Nature Valley's Honey Oat Clusters. It is packed with protein so I know it will keep me full and not craving junk later. I add it to blueberry yogurt to really fill me up.
You can get a coupon for $1 off HERE
4. Be grateful! Starting the day with a grateful mind and heart is so important to me. I feel that it helps me stay positive even when things get tough. Kids can be whiney and making messes but without them my life would not be as incredible as it is. Getting up super early for my job can be tough but it brings me so much joy that I can't imagine not working. So that is the perfect way to look at it. Be grateful and all things will fall into place!
Now it's time for you to enter to win a $15 Pay Pal Gift Card! And when you are done entering this giveaway go HERE for another chance to win a Pay Pal Gift Card!
Head over to Nature Valley's site and check out the Nature Valley Cereals. Make sure you pick up the $1.00 coupon then come back here and tell me which cereal you want to try!

I haven't done a day in the life post in so long so I thought it would be fun to journal what a typical day is for us. I chose a weekend day since the weekdays are not as interesting since I work now. You can see what our lives are like from the kids waking up to dinner time and past bedtime! Make sure you enter the GIVEAWAY at the end!
Thank you to Publix Viva Italia for Sponsoring this post!
7:00AM
The kids are up. Diapers are changed and we head downstairs for breakfast.
Then it is breakfast time. The girls usually eat waffles, fruit and milk. Ace will eat cereal.
8:00AM
Outside playtime! I love our backyard. We don't have a large yard but we have a good size patio and the kids have fun stuff to play with making it easier for them to be entertained out there for awhile.
9:00AM
The kids came inside and played with some of the girls new toys. We did a joint party for them on Saturday. They are all really into pretend play.
10:00AM
Snack and playtime upstairs. A change of scenery is a must. Branden was cleaning the floors so the kids and I hung out upstairs and did puzzles and other random stuff in their rooms.
12:00PM
After picking up a RX it was lunch time! We all sit together at the table and eat together on weekends. It's nice for me since I don't get to do this during the week.
 12:45 PM
More playtime before naps. My sister came over so the kids played with her and my niece.
1:00PM
Nap time for the girls and quiet time for Ace. Bran and I watched The Walking Dead while they napped. OMG, no spoilers but OMG!
3:30PM
Girls are up and then it's snack and TV time again for all three. After they finish their snacks they play some more.
4:30PM
Branden or myself will cook dinner. Sometimes it is both of us like tonight. We both kind of threw things in a pot to make some really delicious italian dish for the kids. I always use Hunts® Diced Tomatoes in our pasta dishes because it gives it some more substance. We also had a treat and I made Pillsbury crescent rolls. Another favorite.
Check out Publix for some major savings on their Viva Italia Sale now till the 2nd of March.
5:00PM
Dinner & Family Time!
Branden and I try to always eat dinner together as a family. We sit down together, pray, talk and eat dinner. I love hear what Ace's favorite part of the day is. The girls are still a bit too young to talk much during dinner but they still talk or sing. We also find that if we sit together as a family and eat we have less issues with the kids eating. Ace and Ashlyn usually are our picky ones so this has made it a lot better. This night everyone was happy to eat and devoured dinner. Italian food is a huge hit with them.

 6:00PM
More Playtime for the kids
  7:00PM
Bath Time
The kids all take a bath at the same time, which makes life so much easier on me. I don't know how much longer this will last since Ace is getting older but as of now they all love playing in the bathtub together.

7:30PM
Girls' Bedtime
We have the same bedtime routine every night. We go into the girls room after baths, get PJ's on and the kids play for a little bit. After they have played we read a couple of books of their choice then we sing songs, their favorite is The Wheels on the Bus. After that we read Goodnight Moon quietly and then the girls are off to bed.
8:00-8:30PM
Ace's Bedtime
Ace's bedtime varies between 8/8:30. It really just depends on how tired he is. If he has had a busy day it's earlier. If he isn't super tired we let him come hang out with us downstairs for a bit then we put him to bed. His routine is we read books then snuggle in bed till he falls asleep. He was having trouble going to sleep because he was really scared so we now like to lay with him till he falls asleep. He usually falls asleep within 10 minutes and it's a nice time for us to just have a little one on one time with him. I really cherish this time with him.
8:30PM
Mommy and Daddy time.
If Branden isn't working or isn't working on school stuff this is when we get to just hang out together. We have our shows we like to watch so we cuddle on the couch (totally cheesy I know but we do) and I usually fall asleep on him at some point, ha!
9:30/10PM
BED!
I am usually passed out at this point. Branden not so much.
