Perfectly Imperfect Mom

I often get this question a lot. "How do you do it?"

I think people see three young children and assume it's the hardest, most stressful life there ever was! I mean yes, having 3 under the age of 4 (and at one point 3 under 3) can be rough, especially when two of them are only 5 months apart.
I often get comments like "Bless you!" or "You really have your hands full!" and of course the infamous "How do you do it?!"  I get it, we can look like a spectacle at times.
So how do I do it? Well, it's like anything in life, you just do because you have no choice.
Every day we get up, try to follow a general routine and get through the day with as many laughs as we can. My house is rarely ever not cluttered with baby stuff and if I could fully finish laundry it would be a miracle. Half the time my kids are running around in only diapers and underwear because pulling pants up and down every time someone needs a diaper change gets old. Also if you have met Everly you will know this is no easy feat. The girl loves to scream and spin whenever she is changed.
I also have a husband who wins in the Daddy category. Whenever someone asks how I do it he is my answer. Branden picks up so much of my slack. He is a cleaning machine, plays with the kids and keeps our house from falling apart all while working. He is a savior and I am lucky to call him mine. I think people assume the Moms do it all or maybe the Dads are only there for the fun parts but not in our family. Branden takes on so much and I am very grateful. I don't think I tell him enough.
So my house is a slight disaster and my kids are half dressed but at least they are happy the majority of the time. I may be going slightly nuts through out the day but they are pretty oblivious to it. We go through harder times and super easy times but overall we make it because we just do. We learn what works and what doesn't and go with what does.
People have asked for a Day in the Life post so I will try to get that done for you all!
How do you make it work with your family?

Pool Day! (Everly was sleeping)
This past month (or months I should say) have been so busy. With vacations, birthdays, showers and a wedding it has been pure craziness.
Now that it is March we are zeroing in on Everly's FIRST birthday! I can't believe my little baby girl is going to be one. Since we decided she will be our last baby it is a very bitter sweet celebration.
Anyone else feel this way about their last babies first birthday? The ending of an era so to speak. We will be entering into a new stage of life. A stage of toddlerhood and kiddie-hood. A stage of walking, talking and independence. It makes me want to cry and smile all at the same time.
I was never one for the newborn stage but I always loved the toddling age. I love how they have these funny personalities and are learning to talk and express themselves. It is incredible to watch. My kids have all been such sweet, awesome, fun kids that I can't imagine what else life has in store for us. They are also all so different and I love that. I have one who has always been extremely smart, silly and fun. Another one who is super loving, sweet and nurturing. Then my little firecracker, wild, hot tempered and a killer personality. They all have so many incredible things about them that I think "I can't wait to see who they become" then I stop myself and saying "don't rush it".
I think that scares me more than anything. I hate the statements like it goes by so fast and just yesterday they were babies. I get sick to my stomach over it. I think about how fast it went with my parents. They are gone and I am 30, almost 31 and that's it. They aren't here. I want to enjoy every moment with my kids and cherish it, not rush it. So when I start thinking I can't wait for this I stop myself. Another reason Everly's birthday is bitter sweet because it did come in a flash and now she is a walking, babbling little toddler. She is no longer a baby (hell, she was never a baby, she refused being a baby).
Time is precious and sometimes you really focus on how precious it is. I hope I never lose sight of this. I hope it is forever in my mind that I have to cherish it all.

Have you checked out these adorable hairstyles from the Disney movie Frozen? Zulily gives a tutorial on how to do Elsa's braid and Anna's Coronation Updo. My favorite has to be the braid, which one is yours?

How was everyone's Valentine's Day? Mine was great!

Branden and I took the kids down to the beach in the morning. It was chilly here so we let them play in the sand for a bit. It was the girls first real time playing at the beach. The last time we all went to the beach together was a week or two before Everly was born so Ashlyn was not even 5 months old yet.

Ashlyn loved the sand. She tried to eat it once but then after that was good about putting it in the bucket. Everly just wanted to walk around and Ace also loved playing in the sand. It was seriously so nice to just watch them play and enjoy themselves.

After that we got Ace ice cream at this little ice cream place we went to for his birthday with our friends in the summer. He was so excited to get a Sponge Bob ice cream, so cute!
After that we walked around for a bit but decided to head back home since my cousin was going to watch the kids.

Branden and I decided to go see 50 Shades of Grey. I never read the book so I only knew a little bit about it. I figured it was basically a romance novel but quickly realized it was a really weird story about a man who was neglected and abused with serious control issues. I think I said "this is so weird, I can't handle this" through the majority of the movie. The funny thing is the sex wasn't even the weirdest part for me. I mean that was a bit intense but the way he tried to control Anastasia and his barriers was just sad and tragic. Anyway I still am wondering how women were turned on or attracted to him (in the book). I thought he was a good looking guy till his character ruined it for me.

Moving on, then we took a nice romantic stroll around Target. I know, my homeland. I mean seriously if you know anything about me you know this made my day, ha!
Branden and I also got this app called ShopKick and you get "kicks" for walking into stores, scanning things and buying things as well. If you get a certain amount you get gift cards. I already got a Target one. It's pretty cool. If you go to the mall which I did the other day you will get a ton of Kicks.
You can check it out HERE if you are interested. I am all about some free gift cards.
Even though our Valentine's Day wasn't all that eventful it was probably my favorite yet. I think the fact that we had all our babies with us in the morning, enjoying such a perfect day just made the whole day. I seriously can't believe I am so lucky.
