Perfectly Imperfect Mom

I recently got an awesome opportunity to try a food delivery service called DeliverLean.  I was excited to try this as I hate to cook and am always in a hurry in the morning and forget my meals for the day.  It consisted of two days of meals that were delivered to my house Wednesday morning and the meals would be for that day and Thursday.  I was so excited to see my cooler by my front door when I left for work at 7:30 AM.
If you know me then you know I usually always eat the same thing all the time. I don't go way out of my comfort zone for everyday meals. When I opened the cooler to see what meals they had planned I was a bit nervous because the meals were very different from what I would normally eat.
The meal plan consisted of...

Wednesday:
Breakfast: Roasted Vegetable Frittata, Ekekiel Sprouted Grain Bread & Jam
Lunch: Turkey Burger w/ Fresh Mozarella Cheese, Spinach & Roasted Tomatoes w. Balsamic Glaze
Dinner: Grilled Steak Chimichurri, Cinnamon Sweet Potato Wedges and Roasted Cauliflower

Thursday:
Breakfast: Sweet Potato Pecan Multigrain Pancakes w. Sugar Free Syrup
Lunch: Watermelon Feta Tabbouleh Rosemary Shrip
Dinner: Chicken Parmesan w. Penne and Strained Green Beans.
Turkey Burger!

On Wednesday I really didn't like the Frittata much at all. I hated the texture and just the overall taste. Thank goodness for the bread and jam. Lunch was great. I loved that they added mozzarella cheese, spinach and tomatoes to a turkey burger. I didn't use the glaze because the burger was fine as is. I was surprised there wasn't any type of side like veggies but it was surprisingly filling. The dinner was not something I would normally eat at all. I rarely eat red meat. It was great, though, and I was surprised it wasn't dried out from having to nuke it in the microwave for a minute. The sweet potato wedges were delicious! I usually am not a fan of sweet potatoes since they are so sweet but they tasted awesome. The cauliflower also was good, I usually find it to be boring but they did a great job with adding some flavor to it.
Overall I would give this meal plan a B. If it weren't for the Frittata I would have given it an A+!

Thursday started out MUCH better! The sweet potato pecan pancakes were incredible. I love nuts in everything so this really made my day. I also think they tasted like buttermilk pancakes which was nice. I would love to make some of these for my son minus the pecans.
I also loved that one of the meals was Chicken Parm. That is one of my favorite italian meals. It was a smaller portion then you would get at say, Olive Garden, so it was nice to not feel overly stuffed. I think that was my favorite meal of the day. The rest were great too and I enjoyed the variety DelverLean offered.

Some of the smaller touches I really enjoyed and maybe I am the only one who noticed, not sure but was that the cooler bag was made from recycled products. That to me is awesome. They also use containers that can be recycled and they state this when explaining the heating instructions. I love that they are taking even the smallest steps to help the environment.

I think that if you are looking for a delivery food service that has a variety of foods and helps you stay within your daily suggested caloric intake then this is the thing for you!

They offer 5 different meal plans. They include the Traditional Meal Plan, the Paleo Meal Plan, a Gluten Free Meal Plan, an Organic Meal Plan and for those on the HCG Diet there is a meal plan for you as well! You can also chose from 5,6 or 7 day Meal Plan. The options are endless!

Right now Deliver Lean is offering a great deal for my readers who sign up for a month of meals. With the coupon code: MBDL89 you get free shipping and 2 days of free food! If you have any questions about Deliver Lean please feel free to write Alli at alli@deliverlean.com, she is very nice and super helpful!

Anyone else see that Citrus Lane is having a 10% off coupon code going on right now?! The code is SPRINGFUN. Check it out!

Wondering what Citrus Lane is? It is this awesome site that sends out a package monthly full of the best baby, mommy or pregnancy products. It is custom to your child's age and gender for the baby ones. I am obsessed with this idea. I think this would make a great gift for someone who is pregnant, a new mom or for a baby's birthday (hint, hint! Ace is almost 1, people!). The monthly subscription is $25 but the value of items in the box far exceeds this price. Example of a previous months package.

I have had the day off today and it was nice getting to spend some one on one time with Ace. He woke up and we played for a bit then I made him scrambled eggs for the first time. He devoured them. Then we played some more and did laundry. He then took a nap for over 2 hours! I was not expecting that. An old friend came by to pick up some baby clothes he had grown out of and brought her adorable son Lucas with her. It was so great catching up with her and talking about baby stuff. We both had a lot of trouble getting pregnant and there is just something about talking to other women about that that makes you feel less alone about it. Now we both have these beautiful sweet boys!
After that my Mom came over and we went to Chick-fil-A and had lunch. Then we headed to Party City! I think we may finally be done with goodie bag stuffers and prizes. Holy cow have we been going nuts.
Then I headed home and what an awesome surprise, my sister and I had our first sale in our Etsy shop and my Facebook page and Blog have grown with followers! Thank you so much for following me through this amazing journey of being a mother. I am so grateful for everyones support.

On a very exciting note, we are getting closer to finishing Ace's play kitchen. My husband is really a rockstar. He has it all painted an aqua color and painted the fridge, microwave and oven doors a metallic color. Once we get those attached it is going to really start looking amazing!!! Here is a picture of the kitchen painted aqua. I think he might work on it a bit more tonight so if he does I will post another one tomorrow.
Love the aqua color!

In the Smokey Mountains, he slept the entire day we walked around!
When I was pregnant I never thought I would have a baby who was colicky. It just never crossed my mind. When I had my son it was a rough start. He cried constantly, apparently I had super low milk and my poor baby was starving, so I thought once we were able to supplement he would be able to get full and sleep and not scream constantly. This I think actually made things worse on my poor baby and I was at a loss. He needed to be held 24/7 and no one else could console him either so that made it very tough. Something had to give.
First time using the K'tan! This is an old print
Eggplant
I had been give a Moby and a Baby K'tan carrier by two different people I used to nanny for. I had actually forgotten about the K'tan because Branden had put the box high in the closet so I grabbed the Moby to see if it would help my little guy sleep and give me a way to actually be able to eat, do some laundry, and give my arms a rest. Well, let's just say it took me awhile to get the damn thing on even with the help of youtube videos and Ace was pissed the second he was in it and didn't stop crying the no matter how much I adjusted it. I was so disappointed. I posted a status on Facebook saying I was going to give it another try and hoped he wouldn't scream and a friend suggested the Baby K'tan. I then remembered I had one and looked up youtube videos on how to put it on. I looked in the mirror and got it on the first try. Ace cried for a split second because I was making sure he was in there and then passed out. I was in shock! That thing became my best friend after that day. I brought it with me EVERYWHERE.

2 months old at Disney!
I was never a fan of infant carseats. I wasn't the kind of Mom that had her baby in one all the time. The only time he would be in it is if he fell asleep in the car (which was rare, he hated the car).  If my baby was awake he was being held so the K'tan was the best invention for Moms like myself. It comes with a sash that actually turns into a little sack to hold the carrier making it easier to carry everywhere. If Ace woke up and we were in the grocery store I would pull it out and have it on in less then a minute and could walk around the store with him completely content. Just the thought of bringing the Moby out with me was a nightmare. I don't even want to imagine the aggregation and the ends of it touchy nasty store floors. The K'tan is basically wrapped for you so there isn't any long ends hanging down.

When Ace was about 6 weeks old I posted a picture of us on the Baby K'tan Facebook page. I was asked by the lovely Michal Chesal to come by and take a few pictures with Ace (their warehouse is down the street from my house) for their new sash and colors. I was so honored.
That's Ace sleeping in the Sage green carrier
We got to their warehouse and put Ace into the K'tan I would be wearing for the pictures and he slept the entire time! We were there for a few hours and he was so content in the K'tan.
After that Ace has been used for another shoot which landed his picture on the new Baby K'tan box!
We were also honored to be a Baby K'tan Ambassador!
The Baby K'tan carrier has a double loop design making it stand apart from carriers like the Moby. It makes wrapping fast and simple. There are 6 different caring positions so you can use the Kangaroo position for a newborn and the Hip Position for toddlers! How cool is that?

Now to get to the good part, I am going to be giving away one Baby K'tan Carrier. You will have your choice of color and size. Follow all the instructions and good luck!!!
