Perfectly Imperfect Mom

My brother's 4th child was born yesterday! His name is Gavin Michael. He was 7lbs 10zs and 19inches long. He looks so tiny to me now. We were able to get a picture of him and Ace next to eachother and he looks so big!
My brother, sister and I with the newest members of the family.

Today my beautiful baby is 11 weeks old.
He has started really smiling and cooing a lot.
He is still obsessed with his mobile above his changing table.
He favors smiling at Daddy over Mommy.
He met 4 new friends this week at two mommy meet ups.
He is still a tiny guy but filling out and has the cutest chubby cheeks.
He is now in medium size gdiapers.
He will sleep from about 9 till 2am, eat go back to sleep till about 5:30/6am.
He is still mostly on formula but we nurse throughout the day and he gets 1 full bottle of breastmilk a day.
Here is a cute video we took of Adonis the other day, sorry its sideways, I am a terrible camera person.

I am such a slacker! I haven't made a 2 month post yet.

Adonis weighed 10lbs 9.5ozs and was 22 inches at his 2 month appointment.
He got his vaccines which were awful. His legs hurt him so badly that night that he was hysterically screaming. We gave him some tylenol which didn't seem to work but I guess it's because he spit most of it out so finally a couple hours later we gave him some more and he finally passed out. It was the saddest thing watching him in so much pain. I almost started crying. The next day he still needed some tylenol but by later in the day he was better.

Right now Ace smiles although still not all the time which bums me out a bit. He coos and does a lot of ahhs. He is obsessed with my Mom, he stares at her like no one else. He loves his mobiles, he has one over his changing table which is his favorite and one over his crib. He loves being nursed in the morning and sleeping in the Baby K'tan. He has gotten a lot less fussy since we changed his formula to Gerber Gentle. I still pump and nurse him so he gets a combo of formula and breastmilk through out the day.

Oh and if anyone is a Hell's Kitchen fan you might have seen my friend Paul win!!! I am so happy for him. He dated my bestfriend for awhile and so he and I became pretty good friends and we also worked together after they broke up. He is hilarious and a total ass at times but to know Paul is to love him. He is an awesome guy. He is so deserving of this. He is an exceptional Chef and works his ass off. Congrats Pauly!!!

This weekend we are heading up to Daytona to see one of my bestfriends and her family. I am so excited. Then on Friday night we are driving to Orlando and going to Disney on Saturday!!! I can not wait to go with Ace and my friends daughters. We are all super close so it will be awesome to just hang out and see the kids together. Her girls are so incredibly sweet and smart and I just love being around them.

It has been 10 years since the September 11 attacks and I think anyone who was old enough to really understand the tragedy of the events remembers where they were and what they were doing that day when they heard about the attacks.
I remember getting woken up by my best friend, Katie, telling me to turn the news on. I put it on and just saw a building that looked like it was on fire, I thought no big deal, people were probably evacuated and safe, then she explained what happened, I was still half asleep and shocked. I remember getting out of bed, running downstairs to see my Mom watching the news and saying it was serious and how sad it was. I got in my car and drove to my Dad's work and him and my Grandpa and a few other people were in his office watching this tiny TV and we saw the second plane hit. I just remember covering my mouth in shock and my Grandpa tearing up. I asked if it was an accident, still not understanding how this could be happening and he said No, this was probably a terrorist attack. Being 17 I hadn't seen anything like this at the time and you never think you will in your life time but when you do it is incredible and serious. I got a call from my cousin asking me to pick her children up from school early and all I heard on the radio that day was I'm Proud to be an American and them talking about what was going on.  My best friend Maggie came over and we just watched the news in the dark all day and night. Thinking back now I can't believe we just sat there and watched the planes crash over and over again from different camera views and just crying all day.
I remember after that day how kind people were to anyone and everyone. Almost every car on the road had a flag hanging from it and the fire fighters standing on the streets collecting money in boots for the victims. The American pride continued for a long time and it's funny to think now no one has those flags on their windows.
I also remember the talk of war and freaking out about it. It scared me so much. Ten years later those of us here are still safe thanks to the many soldiers who fight for us and I am so grateful. I am grateful for the increase in security at the airports as I have flown so much since then. I hope my son never has to experience this kind of event in his lifetime.
Today we aren't doing much but hanging around the house but we did want to dress up Adonis in tribute of that day!
